Engr. Azizullah Niazi

We began in 2003 with four people and one office in Kabul. Everything this company owns since — the plants, the fleet, the engineering office, the ten regional offices — was built one contract at a time, by people who had to be right the first time because there was no margin to be wrong.

I hold this company to a simple standard: we do what we said we would do, in the time we said, to the specification we agreed. Where the specification will not survive the ground it sits on, we say so before we build. On three projects we have paid from our own funds for the better detail rather than deliver work we knew would fail early. A road that fails in five years is not a saving, and I will not put my name to one.

The men and women who work here have built in Nuristan and Badakhshan, in short seasons and hard terrain, far from any supply chain. Their safety comes before schedule and before margin. That is not a policy written for a document; it is the condition on which I accept a project at all.

Twenty-two years, fifty-four contracts, thirteen provinces, without a year off site. The highways our people drive on, the bridges they cross, the canals carrying water to their fields — these outlast contracts, governments and companies. They are the only honest measure of what we have done.
